About David A. Smith, Esq.

David A. Smith is an attorney with twenty years of experience in civil litigation. From 1979 to 1981, Mr. Smith was the Attorney in Charge of the New York State Attorney General's Plattsburgh Regional Office. In 1981, he opened the New York State Attorney General's first Nassau County Office, which he ran until 1987, when he entered private law practice.

Mr. Smith has litigated many notable cases, some in the area of "right to die" law. He has lectured to professional and lay groups throughout the country concerning medical treatment decision-making, and has appeared on numerous television programs, including the "Today Show", "Court TV" and "NBC Dateline" to discuss these issues.

Today, as the founder of his own law firm, Mr. Smith and his staff focus on representing individual clients in estate planning, Medicaid planning, guardianship proceedings, estate litigation, "right to die" cases and general litigation. Mr. Smith is also a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is also an active member of the board of directors of the Mental Health Association Of Nassau County.

Meaghan Judd is an attorney admitted to practice in New York State in May 1997 and has more then ten years experience in Medicaid planning, estate planning, fiduciary accountings and related matters. Ms. Judd also handles guardianship and estate court proceedings. She is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations.
